Dear valued clients and friends, ![]() It’s summer in Texas and we all know what that means … heat! As the temperature has heated up, we also are seeing a welcome rise in commercial project opportunities. Our project managers in all four locations have been busy writing proposals and developing bids for a variety of projects –large and small, for both repeat clients and some new ones alike. Though it’s likely that new construction activity won’t return to pre-downturn record pace anytime soon, it is certainly good to see this upswing. According to Texas Construction magazine, much of the focus in project starts is in the areas of military/government, education and health care facilities. In fact, of the top 25 projects started in 2009 – based on total construction costs – 17 fall within these three markets. That’s good news for Intertech, as those are market segments in which we have extensive experience and a successful track record. Read more about our health care work, and check out what the national media is saying about Intertech Flooring. Our goal is to be the most valued and trusted resource for your commercial flooring needs. Let me know how the Intertech team and I can better meet your needs. Email me. What’s in Your Concrete? Take Advantage of our LEED Knowledge
Anne Galmor, LEED commercial construction has become the norm, not the exception, and partnering with contractors who have real LEED construction knowledge is a definite asset to general contractors and architects. Intertech is proud to be one of the few commercial flooring contractors in Texas with LEED Accredited Professional expertise on staff. Anne Galmor, design consultant based in our San Antonio division, is an exceptional LEED resource to clients seeking ways to maximize LEED points with smart flooring choices. In fact, we’ve installed more green flooring projects than any other commercial flooring contractor in central Texas. Check out Intertech’s Guide to Green Flooring. One of the things we have learned over the years is the critical importance of understanding the project’s concrete composition in advance of selecting flooring products or starting installation. Our experience was highlighted in a feature article this summer in Plant Services magazine. If you missed it, be sure to take a read to learn what you need to know to save money and headaches on your next LEED project.
July 30, 2010 The DPR Construction team would like to thank Intertech Flooring for putting forth the extra effort that made The University of Texas Data Center at CRB project so successful. This has been the most complex building designed and built for UT to date. Your team was instrumental in our ability to make the project completion date. We thank everyone at Intertech Flooring, especially team members Bill Embrey, Mike Parsons, Jessie Rodriguez and Chris Cook. We could not have completed this project without them and must commend their dedication and their quality of work. We look forward to working with you and your staff on the next DPR project. Jason Choyce, Hats off to these Intertech clients, whose projects recently have been recognized with excellence awards. We are honored to be a part of these exceptional installations:
Intertech's on the Road... Intertech’s design consultants came home from Neocon in June with a wealth of ideas and samples of the latest in commercial flooring products and installation solutions. Contact Anne Galmor, Elisabeth White, Cookie White or Diana Gonzalez to learn what’s in, what’s not and what’s ahead in flooring designs.
Anne Galmor, Elisabeth White and It was great to visit with our design friends at the Metrocon Expo and Conference Aug. 12-13 at the Dallas Market Hall. Metrocon is a ground-breaking collaboration: a regional expo and conference organized through an innovative volunteer alliance between the Texas / Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA [International Interior Design Association] and the Texas Chapter of ASID [American Society of Interior Designers]. Now in its eighth year, this event has become the largest regional design-related expo and conference in the USA. Intertech will be one of more than 250 diverse manufacturers and service-oriented companies exhibiting cutting-edge products and services. Congratulations to Debra Babcock with Chesney Morales Architects and Kim Hogan from HOK who won the $200 Nordstrom's shopping spree! It also was great to be out and about with our clients at two recent events. In April we packed up the bus and headed out with about a dozen clients to Fredericksburg for a tour of the Hill Country University Nursing School facility. There, our clients were able to see access flooring up close with a great demonstration from our partners at FreeAxez. Learn more about FreeAxez, which is a patented all steel, quick-connect low profile access floor. It is an ideal solution for the general office environment, not just for data centers or computer rooms. Check out photos from the day. And on April 22, our Dallas team and clients toasted Mother Earth with a happy hour celebration honoring the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Held at the hip Bolsa Café and Wine Bar, the event featured locally grown organic foods, and spotlighted green flooring initiatives. Check out photos from the day.
