Intertech Flooring Adds Two New Employees

(November 5, 2008 – Austin, Texas) - Intertech Flooring announced today the addition of two new employees to its Austin team. Courtney Gay joins Intertech in the newly created position of director of new business development. Diana Gonzalez joins Intertech as design consultant.

Gay’s focus will be on assisting the company’s project managers and design consultants in pursuing new business and seeking out new market opportunities for Intertech’s services and products for the commercial flooring company’s three locations in Austin, San Antonio and Mission, Texas.

Gonzalez will work with designers, architects, end-users and general contractors in the Austin market to assess project flooring needs and assist in selecting the best products to meet customers' needs and budgets.

An interior design honors graduate of the Art Institute of Houston, Gay brings extensive design and new business development experience to her role. Most recently, she was workplace consultant with Steelcase Inc., in Los Angeles for four years. Prior to that, she was sales consultant with ASI-Modulex in Los Angeles. Her work there with architects, designers and end users earned her the company’s rookie award.

From 2001-2003, she was solutions coordinator with SMED International/Haworth where she worked on projects for such as clients as Warner Brothers, MGM and Fox. She began her career as a move coordinator/designer for CHEVRON Real Estate Management Company in Houston. Gay holds a bachelor’s from The University of Texas at Austin, and a certificate from the UCLA Construction Management Course.

Prior to joining Intertech, Gonzalez was an interior designer with Insite Architects in San Antonio. There she worked with customers to create interior space planning with AutoCAD, select interior space finishes and grown client relationships. Before moving to San Antonio, she was a drafting technician for the City of Laredo’s Planning and Zoning Department. In addition, she interned with Epstein & Sons International in San Antonio, where she assisted with space planning, AutoCAD and interior layout work for projects including Crossroads Mall. She holds a bachelor’s in interior design from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
