Local Design Consultant Gains LEED Accreditation
(March 24, 2008 – SAN ANTONIO, Texas) -Intertech Flooring announced today that its San Antonio-based design consultant Anne McHugh has achieved the LEED Accredited Professional (AP) designation through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Intertech is the leading provider of green flooring products and installation services on commercial projects in Central Texas.
The achievement makes McHugh the first and only commercial flooring contractor LEED Accredited Professional in Central Texas. There are approximately 160 LEED APs in San Antonio, primarily from architectural and interior design firms, according to the USGBC.
LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. The LEED AP credential represents the individual’s knowledge of the LEED rating system and its application in practice. To achieve the LEED designation, McHugh underwent a rigorous curriculum and examination process administered by the USGBC’s Green Building Certification Institute.
“We are extremely proud of Anne’s achievement,” said Intertech CEO Bill Imhoff. “To achieve the LEED AP designation is no easy feat, and speaks volumes to her commitment to and knowledge of green building principles and processes.
“Her LEED AP expertise will be a tremendous asset to our clients as they increasingly seek environmentally conscious choices in flooring,” said Imhoff. “She will be able to help them identify green products that suit their project and budget, and assist in gaining the LEED points they need to get their building LEED certified.”
