Intertech Flooring's Imhoff to continue as chair
of the Workforce Development Board

(November 13, 2007 - AUSTIN, Texas) - Bill Imhoff, president of full-service commercial flooring company Intertech Flooring in Austin, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley, was inducted this month to a second term as chairman of the board of WorkSource, the Greater Austin Area Workforce Development Board.

Imhoff will chair the 27-member board of directors for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. The board comprises business, economic development, education, labor, community organization and public sector leaders. It is one of 28 workforce boards established by the Texas Legislature in 1995.

Imhoff was first named WorkSource chairman in November 2006. In that position, he plays a key leadership role in setting policy and directing a $35 million annual budget for workforce programs in the Central Texas area. As the region’s premier workforce board, WorkSource’s network of partners and providers offers a wide range of no- and low-cost employment solutions for employers and individuals including recruitment services, job search assistance, training, child care and educational initiatives.

“I am looking forward to serving another year with WorkSource’s talented board and staff,” said Imhoff. “A diverse and highly skilled workforce is key to ensuring the long-term vitality of the Central Texas economy. It is up to us as business leaders to attract quality jobs to this region, as well as the educated employees needed to fill them.”

Imhoff has been a longtime member of the WorkSource board, as well as an active proponent of workforce development. He chaired the Construction Sector of Austin @ Work in 1999; was on the Construction Steering Committee of the Capitol Area Training Foundation; and served on the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Imhoff established an Intertech Flooring Apprenticeship Program which is the only program of its kind nationwide through which participants can receive an associate’s degree in applied sciences, as well as becoming journeymen installers. Earlier this year, Imhoff was awarded the Ernst and Young Enterpreneur of the Year Award for Community Impact.
