Intertech Flooring Receives
Highest Flooring Industry
Recognition
(January 23, 2004 - AUSTIN, TEXAS): Central
Texas commercial flooring company Intertech Flooring has been
certified by the national Floor Covering Installation Board (FCIB)
as one of the country's leading installers of floor covering
for commercial buildings. Intertech has locations in Austin and
San Antonio.
The certification places Intertech among an elite group of
only four flooring companies in Texas which have achieved the
certification. The FCIB designation is considered the industry's
most prestigious recognition.
To achieve FCIB certification, flooring installation businesses
must be rated superior in all areas of business operation and
agree to a Ten-Point Plan for Installation Excellence. The plan
emphasizes fiduciary responsibility and continuing education,
and requires that flooring installation be backed by a two-year
warranty. Certified contractors are re-evaluated every two years.
"
The FCIB certification process is very rigorous, and fewer than
50 percent of the candidates for certification are successful," said
Dave Stafford, FCIB chairman. "Intertech Flooring is clearly
in the top tier of businesses in our industry and sets the
standard of excellence in the Austin and San Antonio markets."
First established in Austin in 1988, Intertech Flooring expanded
to San Antonio in 1992. The company provides commercial flooring
products, installation and maintenance to clients throughout
Texas and the Southwest. Intertech has twice been honored as
a Samaritan Center Ethics in Business Award finalist, and has
been nationally recognized for its leadership in workforce training
initiatives including development of its own innovative Apprenticeship
Program.
"
FCIB-certified companies are considered to be the best in the
business, and we are honored to be among such an elite group," said
Bill Imhoff, Intertech President and CEO.
