Intertech Flooring Introduces Unique Online Tool
to Speed Carpet Selection Process

(August 22, 2002 - AUSTIN, TX ): Commercial flooring company Intertech Flooring launched today a new online carpet search tool that enables interior designers and architects to dramatically shorten the carpet selection process.

Unlike anything else commercially available, Intertech’s Carpet Search Tool – located at www.intertech­­flooring.com – lets designers search 16 major manufacturers’ lines, using up to 11 different criteria. Using a simple click-and-drag functionality, users can search for carpet that meets the project’s specific budget and design needs. Search criteria include everything from face and fabric construction, to type of pattern and fiber, and whether quick ship options are available.

Traditionally, an interior designer would research carpet options by browsing manufacturers’ catalogs, a tedious and time consuming process. “With so many products on the market, a designer looking for carpet might go through 10 or 20 sample books to find something that meets the project’s needs. On a complex commercial job, that process could take quite a bit of time,” said Intertech Design Consultant Kelley Sandidge.

“Using our Carpet Search Tool, the search process can be cut from an hour or hours, to less than a minute,” she said.

The search tool is a new feature of Intertech’s recently re-launched website, www.intertech­­flooring.com, and was developed based on customer input. “Our goal is to help the architect and designer select products that fit their specific needs, thereby saving them time and their clients money,” said Intertech CEO Bill Imhoff. “The Carpet Search Tool lets designers have input into the selection process at the front end of the project, minimizing the likelihood that their clients will spend money uselessly on the wrong products. They save valuable time by quickening the product selection process, and their clients save money and get a better end product that ideally meets their aesthetic and durability requirements.”
